Description of each committee:
Bylaws Review and Revision Committee
The Bylaws Committee will be reviewing the current articles of incorporation and bylaws of Cedarbrook Club and advising the board of directors what modifications, if any, ought to be considered by the board. The bylaws govern the internal operation and decision-making process of the pool club and define the rights and obligations of members and the board of directors. All members are welcome to participate in creating recommendations for the board to consider. Anyone with relevant background or experience in corporate, municipal or non-profit governance would be especially welcome. The board of director liasons for the Bylaws Committee are Katie Engen and Stephen Bellotti. Please feel free to contact either of them if you are interested in participating.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee works to improve and expand communication to include all members with information pertaining to the Club and activities held at Cedarbrook. Through deck talks, website information, postings at the club and email pushes, the Communication Committee shares information with Cedarbrook Club members and welcomes member input. A suggestion box has been installed in the pool house and we are working toward adding a comment and question box on the website for further member input.
We are hoping to put together a Club directory for members’ use. Information on Cedarbrook’s calendar, hours, staff and contact information will be included. If you do not wish your personal details to be published, please let Lori Steel know by May 1st.
Concessions Committee
The Concessions Committee will investigate options and set standards for bringing quality food options to the pool via catering services, food trucks or vending machines. This committee will coordinate with caterers to establish a schedule, menu, and price points for providing food at 1-2 peak member-use times each week (i.e. Sunday dinner). As this is a new program for the pool, this committee will help evaluate its effectiveness. The committee will establish similar standards with vending machine operators, including coordinating maintenance calls with pool management. This committee also will investigate if any of these food options could become part of an on-going fundraiser for the pool. All members are welcome to participate in creating recommendations for the board. Anyone with relevant background or experience in food service or delivery would be especially welcome. The board of director liason for the Concessions Committee is Katie Engen. Please feel free to contact her if you are interested in participating.
Finance Committee and the Long Range Planning Committee
Given the recent large expenditure relating to the re-whiting of the pool, re-surfacing of the basketball court and the proposed work to be done on the tennis courts, the Board has decided to merge the Finance Committee and the Long Range Planning Committee into one committee that will study the club’s financial projections over the next several years in anticipation of necessary repairs, capital improvements, and other expenditures which may arise. Revenues, expenditures and the feasibility of various improvements to the club based on direction from the Board will be addressed and a summary of findings and proposals will be presented by the Committee for Board consideration. All members are welcome to join. Any member with a relevant background in accounting or finance, and any members with experience in working with budget projections are especially encouraged to join. Steve Bonavita and Steve Bellotti are the Board liasons to this Committee. Please feel free to contact either of them if you are interested in participating.

Membership
Nominating
The nominating committee will review nominees' information and submit forth their recommendation to the board by September 30th of each year. The nominating committee will follow the by-laws written for Cedarbrook Club.

Rules and Safety
The safety and rules committee does a full review of the existing policies regarding the safety and rules for Cedarbrook and makes their recommendations to the board. The safety and rules apply to the entire club: the pool, basketball court, tennis court and any event or activity taking place on the Cedarbrook Club grounds.

Social Committee
The Social Committee strives to include all its members in fun activities throughout the summer months. From BBQ and Band nights and Crab Feasts to Cheese and Wine evenings at the gazebo, the Committee looks forward to providing events that all families can enjoy. If you have any questions, or would like to help plan and orchestrate an event, we’d like to hear from you! Get in touch with Lori Steel or Steve Bonavita. Cheers!

Contract Review and Negotiations

The Contracts Committee will be creating or reviewing the contracts for tennis and swim team head coaches at Cedarbrook Club and advising the board of directors what additions or modifications, if any, ought to be considered by the board.  The contracts are to stipulate the terms of employment for the coaches.  The contracts also define the rights, privileges (including non-team income opportunities) and obligations (including evaluation) of the coaches.  All members are welcome to offer input to the committee for creating recommendations for the board.  Information from anyone with relevant background or experience in coaching or managing a sports club facility would be especially welcome.  The board of director liasons for the Contracts Committee are Katie Engen, Pete Kirsh and Joe Mesmer.
