Cedarbrook Rules and Regulations The following rules and regulations have been established for the protection of all members to assure the safe operation of the pool facilities and to provide enjoyable recreation for all members and their guests. Members are requested to observe all rules and obey instructions of the Pool Manager and other club employees. Any failure to comply with the rules may result in suspension of pool privileges. Management The Pool Manager is in full charge of the pool at all times and is responsible for the maintenance, order, and cleanliness around the pool area and the rest of the grounds. The Pool Manager is responsible for supervising the rest of the club operating staff and for the proper enforcement of the rules and regulations as established by the club. Enforcement of the Rules Each of the operating staff, in addition to the Pool Manager, is responsible for the (proper) enforcement of the rules. Children and grown-ups shall show them proper respect and cooperation at all times. Parents are required to caution their children to observe all rules and obey the instructions of the Pool Staff. Talking back and arguing with guards is a serious infraction of rules and will be grounds for suspension of pool privileges. The staff shall caution or if necessary shall suspend club privileges from anyone who is willfully violating the rules. Such suspension may be for the duration of the day in which the violation occurs. Suspensions for longer periods may be made by the Pool Manager and the Board of Directors. Health 1. Members/guests who are sweaty, dirty, or using heavy lotions and creams are required to take SOAP SHOWERS before entering the pool. 2. For consideration of one's own health and the health of others using the club's facilities, use of the swimming or wading pools during and immediately following an illness is inadvisable. In particular, any person with respiratory infection, with cough or cold or who is wearing any kind of bandage will not be permitted in the pool. 3. Spitting, spouting of water and blowing your nose in the pool are strictly prohibited. 4. If, in the judgment of the President or Pool Manager, an emergency exists, the pool will be closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of the members. 5. Foot showers must always be used when entering the pool deck, especially from the sandpit. 6. Smoking is not permitted on Cedarbrook grounds. 7. Street shoes are not permitted on the pool deck. 8. Pets are not permitted on the club grounds. Safety 1. Running, pushing, raucousness, yelling, screaming or other undue disturbance in or about the pool are prohibited. 2. All persons using the big pool must be 3 years old or older and be completely and successfully toilet trained. Diapers are not allowed in any part of the big pool, including the cove area. 3. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied to the pool area by a responsible person, who must remain with them. However, children age 8 may be permitted in the pool area unaccompanied if they have passed their basic test and have submitted written permission from their parents to the Pool Manager. The basic test consists of: · Swimming 2 lengths of the pool · Floating for 1 minute · Treading water for 2 minutes 4. Entry into the pool area when the club is closed is punishable by law. 5. Guards have full authority to clear the pool of swimmers at any time. 6. The wading pool (baby pool) is for use by children under the age of 7 who do not qualify for the use of the large pool. The club does not furnish guard service for the wading pool. Persons having their own or another family's children in their care are responsible for their safety and conduct. These children must be kept under immediate supervision at all times. 7. Rules for the diving board and slide are as follows: · Only one person is allowed on the diving board or slide at a time. · Divers and sliders must wait for preceding diver to surface and clear the area. · When a diver or slider has surfaced, the person must immediately swim to the ladder. The diver or slider must not swim under the board or slide at any time. · Divers must dive straight from the front end of the board. · Sliders must slide feet first, on their backs. · The diving/sliding area is to be used only for diving and sliding unless the board and slide are closed and the area has been opened with a guard’s permission for swimming. 8. Inflated tubes, inflated boats, snorkels, face masks, water wings, life jackets and swim fins are not permitted in the large pool. 9. Water toys and balls are permitted in the pool at the guard’s discretion and used appropriately. 10. Gum chewing is not permitted in the pool. 11. Holding onto the lane ropes is prohibited. 12. The pool may be cleared, at the discretion of the management, of all youth 17 years of age and younger for 15 minutes on the hour for adult swim. 13. Swim lanes are roped off for those wishing to swim lengths undisturbed. Swimmers not swimming lengths should remain out of the roped area. 14. Loitering is not permitted near the lifeguard chairs. 15. All injuries occurring on the club's premises must be reported immediately to the Pool Manager. 16. Glass containers of any kind are not permitted on club property. General 1. All persons use the pool and other facilities at their own risk. 2. The club is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings, bicycles or automobiles on the club grounds. It is not safe to leave any valuables in the bathhouse. 3. Lost articles are kept in a basket near to front desk. Please retrieve lost articles as soon as possible, as they accumulate very rapidly. Any articles not claimed by certain dates during the season will be donated to charity. 4. The use of abusive language on club grounds is prohibited. 5. The presence of intoxicated persons or the bringing of alcoholic beverages in any form to the club grounds is strictly prohibited. 6. Food and refreshments are permitted only on the grassy picnic areas. Food is not allowed in the wading pool area. Please make sure to clean up and put all trash in the trash cans. 7. Members must DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY in the parking lot. Please observe a speed limit of 10 MILES PER HOUR. No blowing of horns to summon children is allowed. 8. The club telephone is not to be used to deliver messages to members while on club grounds. 9. All bicycle riders must ride carefully and park their bikes in the provided bicycle stalls. 10. Members and guests must wear proper attire at all times while on club grounds. Swimmers must wear swimsuits; cut offs and undergarments are not acceptable swimwear. 11. Please keep the club grounds clean by using the trash receptacles provided. Cedarbrook Guest Rules and Sign In 1. Members should sign-in with their membership card upon arrival. If you do not have a card, the life guard desk attendant should make you one. 2. Members are responsible for their guests. 3. Guests must be accompanied by a member who must register their guests at the front desk and pay the appropriate guest fees. 4. Guest fees are $3/weekday and $5 weekend for any guests 6 years old and over. 5. Members may not leave guests alone on the club grounds. 6. Members must be 13 years of age to bring a guest or bring a 9 or under child to the pool. Members must be 10 years of age to come to the pool alone (or) 8 years of age and has passed a swim test. |
